I keep this simple blessing on our family refrigerator so that when I'm in the kitchen, I remain conscious of where our food comes from. Today, on Thanksgiving, and all days I do my best to extend gratitude and appreciation for having access to abundant produce and for the amazing nutrients that homemade foods provide.

To perform a simple blessing over your food.
Your body’s own wondrous energy will do the blessing for you
If you simply hold your hands over what you are about to eat.
Hands helped to plant and nurture this food.
Hands helped to harvest and package it.
Hands cooked it.
And the goodness of the food will strengthen us,
Hands and all.
